Though many listeners only recently discovered him through TikTok and streaming playlists, J $ensei’s musical journey began years earlier.

“I started singing and making my indie pop music about 2019, but I’ve been producing music and learning guitar since I was a teen,” he explained.

He provided us with a playful fun fact:

“I discovered Guitar Hero 3 when I was a kid, and it inspired the start of my creative music journey,” he said.

What is Bedroom Disco?

J $ensei pioneered this term to describe his music, especially highlighted in his latest album, BEDROOM DISCO SUPERSTAR DELUXE.

It’s from my bedroom to you. During the pandemic, I was creating music from my room. So now, bedroom disco is my creation: from me to you.

Of course, we can’t forget the disco part, as his groovy melodies can be heard throughout his music.

The artist credits much of his musical influences to the music he grew up hearing at home.

I love the groovy and funky music of the 70s and 80s, stuff that my parents showed me when I was young. My dad had a huge music collection.

His songs blend floating synths, hands-on production, and retro melodies that feel equally suited for headphones late at night or crowded dance floors in the middle of summer.

Bedroom disco makes a case for making something out of where you are. The result? Music that still manages to feel full and a little electric.

Atlanta: Creatives Thrive

For J $ensei, Atlanta was the place to experiment, sharpen his identity, and push himself creatively before eventually making the move to Los Angeles. We remember when he dropped the single ‘She Don’t Sleep,’ passing a million streams on Spotify alone.

While his music may have initially gained traction online and in bedroom playlists, fans believe the next step is inevitable. He confirmed that he plans on revisiting Atlanta for a concert; an event that we look forward to attending!

Our personal favorites?

“Many Moons” and “Angel Eyes” genuinely have us in a chokehold, and both are from his latest album. The instrumentals truly blew us away. We’ve racked up a minimum of 50 streams while publishing this article.

The vibes? Late night, flirtatious, an unforgettable night out, dancing in the lights, likely more than one drink in.

Because we loved it, best believe: our ATL DJs will put this in their repertoire for a summer of lights, cocktails, and good times. We’ll record and vibe out.
